Description

We commissioned Stockport artist Vivian Lally Art to depict the story of David Bowie playing at the Poco A Poco nightclub in Heaton Chapel on 27th April 1970 and then missing his train home leading to him spending a night on Stockport station. Viv has beautifully drawn Bowie as he would’ve looked at the time with the ticket showing all the bands that played on that legendary night. Bowie was booked by a group of teenagers from Stockport Schools’ Student Union and played solo after the drummer in his band hurt his hand. The David Bowie in Stockport story is depicted on a Stockport Music Story Commemorative Plaque at Stockport Station. This commemorative print is a limited edition available in A4 and A3 sizes.
